Training will commence at 9:00 am so be there early to get ready.
Training will be conducted in Kendo, Iaido and Jodo depending on numbers.
Content: The primary focus of this seminar is Team selection for
the Australian Kendo Championships to be held in Perth from 16th until 17th April 2006.
The february Seminar will thus focus on shiai for kendo practioners.
All those intending to go to Perth to compete should attend this seminar.
The seminar will also be of benefit to beginners and those members not intending to got to Perth.
A grading will be held (if required) in kendo to kyu level only on the Sunday morning.
No grades will be offered for either Iaido or Jodo.
Training will be available for both Iaido and Jodo.
Details of program and location will be posted here as soon as these become available.

Monday night 10 April - NO KENDO CLASS - PCYC closes early
Thursday night 13 April - NO KENDO CLASS - PCYC closes early
Sunday morning 16 April Easter Sunday - all welcome
Monday night 17 April Easter Monday - NO KENDO CLASS - PCYC closed
Thursday night 20 April - Advanced Kendo class for those with bogu.
Sunday morning 23 April - all welcome
Monday night 24 April - all welcome
Thursday night 27 April - Advanced Kendo class for those with bogu.
Sunday morning 30 April - all welcome.
And continuing Monday and Thursday nights and Sunday mornings as usual unless notified.

Thursday night 15 June - training for advanced players as normal.
Sunday morning 18 June - normal training for everyone.

Shigeoka sensei is coming up from Brisbane for probably the last
training time. After class we will have some lunch at the PCYC,

December Grading and Seminar
Dates: 9th and 10th December
It will be held 9th and 10th of December 2006 at Tallebudgera Leisure Centre, 1525
Gold Coast Highway, North Palm Beach.
Please note –
It will be Shigeoka Sensei’s last function with us before he returns to Japan. It would
be a great opportunity to show him our immense appreciation by having as many members as
possible in attendance.
On the Saturday night of the seminar we will have a going away party for him during which
a presentation will be made.
Grading will be offered to both Kyu and Dan grades.
Sunday will include the QKR Annual General Meeting with the election of executives.
**VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION**
Membership registration MUST be paid prior to the seminar especially for those intending
to grade. New members can register on the Saturday only. No memberships will be taken on
the day of the grading.
REMEMBER – IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER, YOU CANNOT GRADE.
Cost of the weekend will be $30 if you attend one or both days. This price includes lunch
and refreshments. It also includes insurance.
We are happy to announce the QLD Championships will be held at this year’s Summer Seminar.
The state teams will then be chosen for the 2007 National Kendo Championships in Sydney.
We hare hoping to field a team of 5 Dan, 5 Kyu and 5 Women. This year the nationals will
be held over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend in June.
Usually this is the weekend QKR have our Winter Seminar. In 2007 we will have our Winter
Seminar over the Labour Day long weekend, 5th-6th May. At this time we will have our AGM
and elections for the executive committee. Please give some thought to what kind of
contribution you might like to make to your kendo Renmei.

Renew your membership before the seminar. If you are a new member you can pay on the
Saturday of the seminar.
You will not be able to grade if you are not a member. No exceptions.

Hello to All.
School holidays, Christmas and News Years are here again.
Congratulations to all who passed their grades on the weekend and commiserations to
those that did not.
As we are all learning, if anyone thinks that in our training sessions we are not
covering something that they would like covered or to know more about, please let

These are the training times for the next couple of weeks:
No Monday Night training (or Thursday night for advanced) until next year 2007.
Possibly start Monday night training back in the week that Schools start up again.
The Last Sunday morning training will be this Sunday 17 December. Due to the
following Sundays being Christmas Eve and then New Year’s Eve.
