June Seminar and Grading

The seminar will be held at:

Coombabah State High School
Pine Ridge Road,
Coombabah 4216

Dates: 19th and 20th June

Times: 9am - 5pm both days

Please ensure you are there at least 30 minutes prior so that we can commence at 9am promptly.
Lunch will be included in the weekend fee which is likely to be $30 as usual.

Training will be conducted in both kendo and iaido.

It is intended that grades will be offered up to 3rd dan for kendo and 2nd dan for iaido.
Please indicate your intention to grade and to what level prior to the seminar and directly to me.
Grading will be conducted on Sunday morning.

As mentioned earlier, the intention of the QKR for this seminar is to encourage kyu participation
in shiai. As you will be aware, next year will see the Australian Kendo Championships being held
on the Gold Coast and the QKR wishes to encourage as many kyu grades as possible to compete and
generally be involved.

So, much emphasis will be given to shiai during this seminar especially on Sunday afternoon.
During previous seminars, many people seem to dissappear after lunch on Sunday. Can you all please
try to organise yourselves to stay until the seminar is over on Sunday afternoon.

I look forward to a solid attendance.

Warm regards

John Isaacs
President

December Grading and Seminar in Brisbane

I would like to confirm the date and location for this year's December Seminar.

Dates: 11th and 12th December

Location:
Ken Shin Kai Dojo
The Hall, Mt Gravatt High School
Creighton Street
Mt Gravatt

Times: 9am - 5pm both days

Please ensure you are there at least 30 minutes prior so that we can commence at 9am promptly.
Lunch will be included in the weekend fee which is likely to be $30 as usual.

Training will be conducted in both kendo and iaido.

It is intended that grades will be offered up to 3rd dan for kendo and 2nd dan for iaido.
Please indicate your intention to grade and to what level prior to the seminar and directly
to the President. Grading will be conducted on Sunday afternoon.

It is the intention of the QKR for this seminar to encourage kyu participation in shiai.
Next year will see the Australian Kendo Championships being held on the Gold Coast and the
QKR wishes to encourage as many kyu grades as possible to compete and generally be involved.

So, much emphasis will be given to shiai during this seminar especially on Sunday morning.
Training will be conducted in both Iaido and Kendo. If sufficient Jodo members are in attendance,
then there is room to accomodate jodo training as well.

You must confirm your intention to grade prior to the seminar. All relevant forms are available
on both the QKR website and the AKR website.

I look forward to a solid attendance. We would like to provide a strong showing at next year's
AKC on the Gold Coast. This is especially true for kyu grades so I encourage all of you to
participate. The December Seminar will likely represent an opportunity to select squads for both open
and kyu teams as well as the womens team events. So please try your hardest to attend the seminar so
that we can field competitive teams for next year.

Warm regards
